HOT HOT HOT!

As some of you know.. mainly just Jami... I dropped some pizza or something in my oven.. and probably some other crap over the last 4 years and lately everytime we use our oven it smokes, alot.
So last night Jim said, "Let's clean it!"
I said, "With what? Do we have some cleaner?"
Jim said, "Doesn't the oven clean itself?" and proceeds to push the button on the stove that says clean.. or something and we lock the oven and it proceeds to get really freaking hot! It takes 4 hours so we went to bed. This morning we peaked inside.. and it was all clean, with some grey ashes on the floor! Whoa!
So today I went to www.ask.com to check out how it works. Apparently the oven gets to 900 degrees and basically torches any leftover stuff thats in there! It is SO cool!
You all must try it..
and no judgement that we have lived in our house for 4 years and never cleaned the inside of our oven.. and don't look in our microwave either. We HAVE cleaned that.. just not real recently..

Jill - a tip...line the bottom of your oven with foil. Then when you drip, take it out and toss it. Done and done!
Good work though with the "clean" button. I am always scared. And I don't like the smell.

Killer tip about the foil, Nici! And Jill, I once had made a cheesecake in my oven at my old apartment (before this house). It was really fun when it unknowingly seeped butter out of the springform pan ALL OVER THE OVEN!! Did I know this happened until I went to go cook a few dishes on Thanksgiving day? Of course not! Jay and I slapped the clean feature on, opened up the windows a bit, and that puppy was as good as new when we got home. Good one.

I, the unclean one of the group, have actually used this button a few times...best during wintertime when you want the house heated to 900 degrees, but great nonetheless (is that all one word?) anywho...good job jill. Foil...that's a good one!

The "unclean one of the group"? Hilarious.
