My new job...

I just wanted to let you all know that I got offered a new job within ConAgra today. I have been stressing (minimal IBS...) for about two weeks now. I applied, on a whim, for this "Sales Operations Analyst" on the 10th...HR called me on the 16th...1st interview on the 17th (told me it would be 2 weeks until I heard back from her)...2nd interview on the 19th (please note that this is only 2 DAYS later, not 2 weeks)...my 3rd interview today at 12:30 with the VP of sales (!!!craping my pants!!!)...and at 2:00 this afternoon I had an offer in front of me. Did I already say that I was CRAPPING MY PANTS. And again, this was all on a whim, so I wasn't expecting anything but to get my name out there, and look where that got me. This new job is three levels higher than where I am now, but the offer was really nice and I start full time on the 20th (downtown on campus). Talk about turn around.
I will be sad to leave my current position (as an expert) to start something so foreign to me...but I guess that is what change and progress is all about.
My current boss says "In the midst of all of this stress and change, now you will get pregnant". I say BRING IT ON!

Ponytails and Buzzcuts...cute but rip off!

So the other day I decided on a whim that Eliana needed a hair cut. I thought we would check out Ponytails and Buzzcuts because I had heard that it was really cute and they did a good job. When we get there they allowed her to pick out a movie to watch at her station and then she got to choose which chair she wanted to sit in. She chose the nice red sports car...that's my girl! J/K. So we get done and the gal tells me my total and I about fell to the floor. I walked out of there with a hair cut that I could have done myself and $20 less in my pocket. Cory doesn't even pay $20 for a hair cut! Maybe I am cheap but I thought it was a total rip off. Now, maybe for kids that throw a fit when they get their hair cut it might be good for, but for Eliana it was totally not worth it!

Dr. Bossert 2

Here he is, Jill...the man, the myth, the legend.

Dr. Bossert

Ok, so I know a few of you go to see Dr. Bossert so this somehow relates to you. Last night I dreamt that I lived across the street from him. Neither of us were married... and I knew he was your doctor.. but somehow I started talking with him and we started dating. But we were sneaking around and sneaking over to each other's houses to hang out. And he was very cute and very polite and in my dream he looked just like Paul Walker.. I have never actually met Dr. Bossert, but you all say he is cute and nice and apparently we are secret girl friend/boy friends in my dream. ... how weird.. it was all very vivid when i was sleeping last night..

KEITH!

I went to the Keith Urban concert with a girlfriend Saturday night. I didn't realize how "yummy" he is...I think it may have something to do with that Australian accent and those dimples! And while I didn't know that many songs of his, except for the ones you hear on the radio, the show was phenomenal. I was blown away by his energy. He looks as though he truly enjoys what he's doing. Every song seems so personal to him...he will be singing, and grin at a certain line. You can just tell that it meant "something" to him. I was still worn out this morning from such a fun night of dancing and screaming. These are some pics that we took Saturday night.
Funny story: Brian's customer was telling him that she went to the concert in Des Moines on Sunday night...she saw Keith walking in to the arena from his tour bus, and all she could think to say is "Hey Keith, you cute little turd!" Cracked me up.
He is quite the cute little turd, for sure!

Has anyone else been to any fun concerts lately?

What was the "bestest" concert that you've been to?
What was your FIRST concert??

Going Green

It is official folks, Jill is now a recycler. I have never recycled before.. and lately feel like I should be doing something to help the planet. So I called the trash company today and am having them drop off a green box. Jim and I are already starting to put stuff in paper bags... its amazing how much stuff you throw away can be recycled! I guess there are some cool products out there too that don't have any chemicals and are good for the environment: Method products at Target and Seventh Generation, which is sold at Target and HyVee. I guess Seventh Generation even makes diapers that are good for the earth and have no chemicals. Has anyone tried this stuff?

Or am I just really slow on getting on this bandwagon..

Anyways, just think its cool.. but dont worry.. I am not turning all hippy on anyone and still shave my armpits every morning. :)

Another way to waste some time

If anyone has a few extra minutes to spare.. this is pretty fun.

I feel like a budding artist!

Click on this link to see mine!

The Holiday

i just watched the Holiday.. for the 3rd or 4th time I think. I love that movie. so cute.

Honestly though.. I really really love Jude Law.. I'm not gonna lie. I actually fast forwarded through scenes to get to the scenes with him and Cameron Diaz.
Things I wanted to do while Jim was gone:
  1. mow and water the yard
  2. paint the upstairs bathroom - inspired by Nici
  3. scrapbook
  4. get the new Harry Potter book and read some of it before Jim comes home and starts complaining that I am reading too much
  5. eat corn on the cob a couple times and frozen pizza
  6. watch all my taped episodes of The Next Food Network Star

Things I actually did while Jim was out of town:

  1. mowed and put out the sprinkler once - the rain the other night helped a little
  2. ate corn on the cob two nights and a whole frozen pizza
  3. watched all the episodes - SUCH a great show.. finale is this Sunday.. who will win!??
  4. Kate and I are getting my copy of the book in the morning and I plan on starting it as soon as she goes down for a nap!

No scrapbooking or painting happened.. maybe another day.

Colleen and Nici - what have you done while the boys are gone?

Iced Coffee

O.k. so I'm not sure who this will all affect, except maybe Erica...but this is where I can voice my opinion so if you don't drink coffee please disregard this post. So, you know how expensive an iced coffee at Starbucks and the like thereof is $4 + and sometimes I just get sick of dropping a $5 for something I can drink in less than 5 minutes so I decided to try out the new Mocha BK Joe from Burger King and the new Iced Coffee from McDonalds and here's my review. The Mocha BK Joe is not bad at all for $2.00, I would get it again for a cheap iced coffee....however the Iced Coffee from McDonalds is horrible!!!! Yuck, I couldn't even drink it all and the funny this was, I had a Mocha BK Joe at this mommys group that I went to this past Monday and one of the mom's asked how I liked it because she got one from McDonalds a few days ago and had to spit it out because it was so horrible......so, not just my opinion. That's all I got...just wanted to inform any of you who may be in love with Coffee but can't drink the HOT stuff in the summer.

Snap, Crackle and Pop

Saturday morning Kate was enjoying some Rice Crispies when Jim thought he should introduce her to Snap, Crackle and Pop. He even thought it was a great idea to show her how to listen to her cereal make noise.. thanks honey... this helps a toddler eat her cereal even faster.. and neater.

Today my mom and I went through some of her stuff she has in storage in hopes to find some of my old toys so I could pass them on to Eliana. I had no idea I would find my old house! We were just talking about the Little People House the other day and I really thought my mom had gotten rid of mine. This toy is about 28 years old! Crazy!

To perm or not to perm, to cut or not to cut???

Well girls, I am back having a "hair dilemma." I have recently thought about giving my hair a body perm. Although my gal would roll the rods a certain way to try and give me some luscious locks like these...I hope!

Then the other day I am in the store and I see the newest issue of US magazine and about fall to the floor with how cute Nicole Ritchie's hair cut is.

Please give me feedback of what you think I should do. Or even if you think I need to just leave my hair alone. I NEED HELP!!

Little Prodigy

SO, my son has been really into "taking pictures" DO you think I have some competition???
