Today my mom and I went through some of her stuff she has in storage in hopes to find some of my old toys so I could pass them on to Eliana. I had no idea I would find my old house! We were just talking about the Little People House the other day and I really thought my mom had gotten rid of mine. This toy is about 28 years old! Crazy!

To perm or not to perm, to cut or not to cut???

Well girls, I am back having a "hair dilemma." I have recently thought about giving my hair a body perm. Although my gal would roll the rods a certain way to try and give me some luscious locks like these...I hope!









Then the other day I am in the store and I see the newest issue of US magazine and about fall to the floor with how cute Nicole Ritchie's hair cut is.

Please give me feedback of what you think I should do. Or even if you think I need to just leave my hair alone. I NEED HELP!!

It is this cool website that talks about great food to eat that isn't super high in fat or calories.. Or different food options to try if you love something, but it isn't good for you.

I have tried the Mr. Crispys she talks about. They are awesome! They are chips you buy.. at Whole Foods... and you can eat about 40 of them for only 110 calories I think! Jim and I love them.

Just go check it out. It is fantastic!

Has anyone ever used Nair or one of those other creams that remove hair on your legs? I am curious to see how well they work and if the hair really stays off?

Yes, that is right. In Finland.. for 5 years now they have an annual "wife carrying" contest. Huge men compete to see who can carry their wife the furthest distance. Now why don't we have something like this in the US? And further more.. why don't we start it ourselves?!! I vote for Jay.. he looks pretty burly and Jami weighs all of about 80 pounds if we don't count her big milk boobs.

I don't know if anyone heard last night when Nici made a shocking announcement.. that she plays dominoes.. online.. with strangers.. in chat rooms. I hacked into her computer's history and found this picture.. these are the men she plays with online.. from Cuba. ... shocking.

2 questions..

I had two questions I was wondering about this weekend.. and I am sure you have pondered them as well.
1. Why do we yawn if we see someone else yawn?
2. Why do men usually fall asleep after sex.. or go into a "sex coma" as I like to think of it..

So I went to www.ask.com

1. All of the websites pretty much just babbled about what they think.. but it doesn't seem like there is a real answer. The sites went on about we yawn because we need more oxygen in our blood and there is too much Co2 in the air or something.. but then we yawn and emit more Co2 to the people around us so then they need more oxygen... who knows..

2. Both parties are using a lot of energy during sex.. so it makes both people tired. add to that the endorphins and adrenaline that goes to our brain calms us down I guess.. but a big thing is that women can get aroused right after and men can't.. somehow that affects it as well.

hmm. interesting.. any other questions?

Naps rule!

I love naps so much - they're the best.
I wish you could still carry around your
"mat" like you did in preschool, and curl up under your desk at work and take a little nap! What a better world it would be if we could all take naps!

How Sweet Is This??

We were very busy today with a family reunion for my mom's side of the family that Eliana did not have a nap besides a little cat nap in the car. When we got home around 4:30pm, I was not about to put her down for a nap, but I knew she was going to be a bear by the time it was bed time. I told he she needed to get up on the couch and rest for a little bit. She really didn't put up too much of a fuss... which I was surprised. Of course, Cory offered to join her on the couch and take a rest also. I went on about my business and shortly after the two of them had curled up together this is how I found them...

It was so sweet to see the two of them cuddling like this because it is not too often that Eliana will snuggle any more, she is just way too busy!

As we all know "all good things have to come to an end." Unfortunately, for Cory this ended a little wet...she pee'd!!

Fischer Price Toys

Do you guys remember playing with those little fisher price houses.. it looked like a house.. with a handle on top and the house opened up and revealed a couple rooms complete with furniture and stuff? And when you were done playing with it you just closed up the house and you grabbed the handle and off you went. Jim's mom still has his from when he was little and Kate loves playing with it.. do they still make those? Does anyone know what I am talking about?

Has anyone noticed that talking on your cell phone has reached a new low? So I don't talk on mine in public very often, and if I do, I try to do it discreetly and very quietly. (The only person who usually calls me while I'm out and about is usually Jay asking if Antonia needs Tylenol. "She's never needed Tylenol since she's been born, Jay. How about you try feeding her.") Anyway, twice in the last week when I've been in public, there have been people on their cell phones WITH THEIR SPEAKERPHONE ON FULL BLAST!! LIKE I WANT TO HEAR YOUR MOM GIVE YOU DIRECTIONS TO YOUR UNCLE LARRY'S HOUSE!!! Are you serious?? Just hold the phone up to your ear. It's eight inches away from where you're holding it right now! You have got to be kidding me. Next time I hear it, I swear I'm saying something. The evil eye apparently isn't working. Please tell me this isn't going to be the next level of inappropriateness and annoying-ness. Thank you to all the little people for helping me post again. Namely, Colleen. You complete me.

So ladies I have some startling/depressing news....we've been cheated on by one of our own. I was looking around and found that our "friend" Jill has been cheating on us all. She has been blogging with another couple of girls for the past YEAR. Now I know I was horrified to find this out and I thought you all should know her lies. So I went to the post office Thursday during lunch and got all our glorious mail. The man didn't even yell at me or give me a dirty look! I tried my best to bat my eyes at him, even though I really just had something in my contact.

So now I have all my magazines to read and enjoy. Like the Parenting magazine that Jami got her cool website from. I should be getting my first issue of Real Simple any day now.. oooohhh. i can't wait!

ok. can you tell I am a little obsessed with getting cool mail like invitations or magazines or books from this other cool website called www.paperbackswap.com where you can trade books you have already read! I am waiting for 3 books to get delivered soon.

stupid mail

i was so sad when i got home tonight..
most of you know.. jim and i arent great at checking our mail. its ALL the way down the street.. and its been cold and rainy and i can't find my key. it has been a week.. maybe two.. and i called jim on his way home from work and asked him to pretty please stop and grab the mail on his way home.. i knew i had a bridal shower invite and 2 new magazines (Real Simple and Coastal Living) I was really looking forward to curling up on the couch to read my magazines before Lost came on tonight.. but Jim walked in the door with a bright orange piece of paper.. they had taken our mail back to the post office.
this has happened once before and jim was promptly yelled at by the lady behind the counter. he said its my turn this time. so tomorrow during lunch i will be running to the boys town post office and grabbing a bag full of mail.. and receiving a stern scolding for not checking my mail.
its not my fault they make those darn mailbox slots SO tiny.. sheesh.

I don't feel as bad now...

Ok I felt really bad about not being on here for a couple months...then I see that it has been a MONTH since ANYONE has been on here. I am done feeling bad.
I really have nothing to say, believe it or not. I had a great time at Bunko. Brian is in Des Moines the rest of the week. He's coming home tonight, which I don't understand why, but then will be gone for a Food Show for the rest of the week, coming home Sunday evening. That makes me blue.
I wanted to post some pictures too so I could be as cool as Colleen and Jill - this is what I could find.
Look how big Trotter has gotten! I can't believe he was that little. --he still acts like he's that little! Oh he used to be the cutest little teeny thing. Now he's a slobbery moose...and we still love him.

That is so weird you mentioned Caboodles. This girl at my work still uses this little caboodle and has all her make up in it. She brings it to work every day. She opens the lid and two little trays slide to the side. its pretty cool. I loved mine when i was little. It was pink and purple - which i think they all were - and i had random little girl things in it: hair ties, make up, jewlrey.. good stuff.
On another note, I am sick now, with a sinus infection and ear infection mainly. i was asking the Dr. why little kids get ear infections and adults don't that much. I guess their little ear drums or something are horizontal, and as we get older they become vertical. so the fluid can drain. there is this little area in the ear that acts as a place to hold extra fluid or air - like when we go on a plane or under water, the air builds up in that little space. but we need to get the air or fluid out of it. i guess my sinuses are SO full of snot and they are inflamed and pushing against my ears, so the snot can't get out.. and now they are infected. nice.
As i am writing this i am breathing out of my mouth because my nose has been stuffed up for days. joy.

Random thoughts....

So I've been thinking about it after Nici sent out that e-mail about wine being better than water.....Don't you think it's weird that you can't MAKE water...so the water we drink and use for ice, and use in cooking, etc....is recycled?!?!? So we have no clue where it's been, but it's been places.....makes me want to throw up a bit.

Second thing I was remembering was Caboodles. Did you girls ever have one...I actually think they still make them but they are modern now a days. I had one that was bright pink and purple and I held all my "junk" in there. Those were great.

Lastly, just wanted to pass along another yummy treat I found. So I like Chai Lattes and at a coffee shop they're so expensive...so I was at the store and I bought this little General Foods International Chai Latte mix. You mix it with water or milk (obviously based on my first comment I use the latter) and it is really yummy. The little can was under $4.00 which seems like a lot but when you go and buy a cup its $3.00 it's really not that much. If you like chai try this out!!!
