Random Thoughts from last night...

I think people who can play instruments on American Idol should get extra points... or something. Ecspecially the blind kid who plays the piano. I mean.. come on! That is good!


When you go to tell your 3yr old to stop singing in her bed and go to sleep.. and you are rubbing her hair... and whispering sweet nothings in her ear.... and she is almost asleep...

Don't.. I repeat.. DON'T tell her to "close your peepers".

This DOES NOT help her to settle down, but causes her to erupt in a fit of giggles. I may have well said "poop" or "tooted" or something like that. Apparently "peepers" is one of the funniest things she has ever heard.

ALWAYS say the word "eyes". Lesson learned.

BREAKING NEWS!!!

Melissa from the Bachelor is going to be joining the cast of Dancing with the Stars!! She is replacing Nancy ODell who has a torn something or other in her knee! I can't wait!

My prediction is.. she will fall in love and marry her partner and they will live happily ever after..

Or.. he will confess his love and then change his mind as soon as filming stops.

Dear Barbie,

I wanted to write you this quick note to let you know how much I love you. Even if my family hates you because I am obsessed with you and now have low self esteem and an eating disorder.
All my life I put you on a pedestool.... something to strive for. You are so beautiful and have such luxerious hair.. Who else can look so good in hot pink stretch pants?!

I tried to be just like you. I had ribs removed so my waist would be tiny and a killer boob job. I constantly wear high heals and now have foot and ankle problems, but I look good.

I focused so much on looking good that I failed out of high school. The good news is that I got my little sister to change her name to Skipper and I even found a hunky guy named Ken to date. Things are about perfect!

I also wanted to wish you a Happy Birthday!

I just finished listening to my audio book over lunch. I have been REALLY into it. Maybe a little addicted even. I pulled out of the parking lot and headed to Walmart to get some groceries.. listening to the book.. and then I sensed it.

The book was about to be over.

Within 3 minutes the book was done and I didn't have another in the car. I had to.. just.. Drive.

I have already reserved another audio book from the library. My coworker says this one doesn't have swear words so I can listen to it with Kate in the car. I will have to stop and grab it on my way to the gym tonight. If I can make it all the way to the gym...

Question

How long can a can of pinapple that is in a tupperware container last for? Would you say a week? I grabbed some from the Fridge to take to work as part of my lunch and I am sitting here wondering when I put this in there.. I think it was only a week ago. It doesn't taste too bad. I close my eyes... I am sitting on the beach and a Cabana boy is feeding it to me while I lay on a chaise lounge.. in a sparkly bikini.. covered in tanning oil. MMM.. that is better.

Currently Reading

My whole office is into reading lately.

We have all been going to the library, checking books out, posting about them on www.goodreads.com and sharing our reviews with each other.

So I just finished reading 90 Minutes in Heaven and True Believer (by Nicholas Sparks). Both pretty good.



Currently I am reading The Shack. I have had tons of people ask me if I have read this as they raved about it. But I have also heard several people think its boring. So far its really good, really sad and I couldn't put it down last night.



I am also doing something new. I am listening to an audio book in my car! Its a book by Sophie Kinsella - "Remember Me?" It is really odd to listen to a book while I am driving... but I feel like I am accomplishing something while I'm driving! It's weird.

What are you guys reading?

Two more things.. then I am done

Okay.. watching Cinderella with Kate last night and have two more questions.. then I am done.

1. They show the king in his pajamas.. and its those old fashioned ones.. that look like a night gown and he is wearing the little sleeping cap.

When did men stop wearing that? What are those called?

I tried googling it.. but can't find anything really.


2. Cinderella goes to the ball and the FAiry Godmother tells her to be home by midnight. So Cinderella goes to the ball, meets the prince and they dance for one song. I am thinking maybe 20-30 minutes has passed.. if that.

Then all of a sudden the clock chimes midnight.

So.. did this party start at 11:30pm? These people are serious partyers!! Sheesh.

Tracking device...

Do people really need this tool to track their sex life? Poor hubby, since this preg I can count on one hand I think...no need for a tool to help me remember. And what is the point of trying to remember, maybe if your trying to get preg, but this site doesn't look like that's really what it's intended for. Rather, to keep track of your bedpost notches...nice encouragement to sleep around and give your "scores" a rating of how they were. 1-5 stars? Gross. Decide for yourself.

Umm. this doesn't make sense

Kate and I have been watching Disney movies lately.. in particular Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast. But I have some questions about some issues that don't make sense to me.

So.. The Fairy Godmother creates this beautiful gown and turns the mice into horses etc etc. She tells her to be home by midnight because the spell will wear off. So the clock chimes midnight and her dress disapears and the mice go back to being mice... but why do the glass slippers not change back? Why is that the only thing that stays the same? Why couldn't she at least keep the dress? I mean... WHO wears glass slippers around the house to do the dishes?


2nd. Okay so at the end of the movie all the people turn back into real people.. Did anyone find it was odd that the teacup lady was like.. old.. like a grandmother. How is she Chip's mom? Chip seems like he is 8yrs old?

I was driving back from lunch today and was sitting behind a work truck at a stop light. There was a big box in the back that was labeled "Steel Pipe Nipples"
After giggling for a minute I got back to work and googled this. Here is what they are I guess.

Fire Proof

If you guys never got the chance to see FireProof while it was in theaters, its now on DVD. It was a great movie - not Oscar worthy acting or anything though. Such a great message. This is one that Jim and I have said we will watch at least once year for our marriage.

Can someone get me some diapers!

"Octoplet's Mother has 6 other kids!"

Some of you already awake have seen this headline on the news already.. I am trying to decide what I think about this.

I mean.. if you have 6 kids already do you think its a good idea to take fertility treatments? Isn't there a pretty high risk that you will have multiple babies?

The mother is acting totally shocked that she got pregnant with more than one baby.. and true.. 8 babies is a whole other story.

I just think.. whoa.. 14 kids.. that is pretty hard to support... ecspecially in a time like this. Is that being responsible? Maybe she just wanted a really big family..

I see both sides of this story. I have interviewed and heard stories from people I know of women who just keep having babies.. not even thinking of the responsibilities.. a lot of these women just use Welfare and keep on having babies. But then there are women who are called to have a big family and are ready for the committment. Children are a GREAT blessing from God.

I don't know.. I am talking in circles. Just wondering what everyone else thought.

Oranges anyone?

We are finally decorating the guest bedroom... hopefully will be done in two weeks for Jim's dad when he comes to visit. This is kind of the look we are going for. I saw a picture of something similiar to this in my Family Circle magazine. Our bedspread looks like this one a little already. I am making a pillow cover with orange fabric and Jim's dad is buying me this orange throw from Ikea in Seattle. We are painting the walls a light blue this weekend and I hanging a huge collage of picture frames above the bed. I went to Goodwill last night and bought a bunch of them cheap and am going to spray paint them all to match.. just trying to decide if I will do black or white frames.. anywhoo.. its definitly not as cool as Jami's rooms.. but its cheap and easy. It only takes us 6 years to finally paint and decorate the rooms in our house...
P.S. I am on the lookout for more orange pillows and accessories.. I think a bright orange alarm clock would be awesome!

Crazy Feet Shoes

Not sure what I think about these....one one hand I'm sure they're comfortable and are quiet possibly good for your back(which would be great) but would it feel like your wearing those toe socks around in public? What are your thoughts? Talk amongst yourselves....
